The Easton Ghost has been the bat to beat in fastpitch softball for the better part of a decade.

It built its reputation on two-piece composite construction, and for years, that formula worked beautifully.

But with the 2026 Ghost Unlimited, Easton is doing something different — scrapping the two-piece design entirely in favor of a stiffer, one-piece build that puts raw power and instant performance front and center.

Overview

Priced at $499.99, the Ghost Unlimited is a one-piece composite bat built around a single goal: getting the most energy possible from your swing into the ball. There’s no connection joint to absorb impact, which means nothing gets lost between the handle and the barrel. It’s also hot straight out of the wrapper — no break-in period required.

Key Technologies

Double Barrel EXT

The biggest upgrade here is the Double Barrel EXT, which stretches the barrel an inch longer than previous Ghost models. That extra length gives you the largest sweet spot in Ghost history, which is genuinely impressive for a one-piece bat. Stiff designs aren’t usually known for forgiveness, so the added hitting surface helps offset that.

VRS1 System

Easton also reworked the internal connection point with their VRS1 system, which helps quiet down the harsh sting you’d normally expect from a rigid one-piece on mishits. Combined with the redesigned handle layering, it creates a feel that’s firm but not punishing.

Anomaly End Cap

Made from lightweight and sturdy materials, this end cap collaborates with the gapped barrel to maintain a low swing weight. Although it’s intended to produce a recognizable sound, testers have observed that the contact sound is surprisingly subtle and one-of-a-kind—it’s less of the usual “ping” and more of a unique, softened tone.

Sonic Comp MAX Barrel

The lowest compression Easton has ever put into a bat. What that means practically is explosive pop from swing one. The tradeoff, worth mentioning honestly, is that ultra-low compression barrels tend to have a shorter lifespan. This bat is built for peak performance, not necessarily multiple seasons of heavy use.
